  • Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC)

Whey protein concentrate is a type of dietary supplement derived from whey, the liquid portion of milk that separates during cheese production. It is a popular source of protein and is used by many individuals, including athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and those looking to increase their protein intake.

    • Protein Content: Typically contains between 70% to 80% protein, but this can vary depending on the specific product. The rest consists of naturally occurring fats and carbohydrates.
    • Other Nutrients: Contains more of the beneficial nutrients found naturally in whole whey protein. This includes lactose, fats, and various immunoglobulins (antibodies) which can have their own health benefits.
    • Digestibility: Generally easy to digest unless one is lactose intolerant. The lactose content in WPC can sometimes cause digestive issues for those who are sensitive.
    • Taste & Texture: It tends to have a creamier texture and more neutral taste due to its fat and lactose content.
    • Complete Protein: Both WPC and WPI are considered complete proteins, meaning they contain all nine essential amino acids.
    • BCAAs: WPC is rich in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) which are crucial for muscle growth and recovery.
  • Whey Protein Isolate (WPI)

Whey Protein Isolate is a high-protein, filtered milk product containing very little lactose, fats, and carbohydrates. It is manufactured from cheese whey. It is a complete protein containing all 20 amino acids. It has a higher concentration of amino acids and less calories than WPC.

    • Protein Content: Contains a higher protein content than WPC, usually around 90% or higher. It undergoes additional processing to remove most of the fat and lactose.
    • Other Nutrients: The additional filtration process reduces the amount of beneficial nutrients found in WPI compared to WPC.
    • Digestibility: More suitable for those who are lactose intolerant or have sensitive stomachs, as it contains lower levels of fat and lactose.
    • Taste & Texture: Might have a slightly different texture and taste due to the reduced fat and lactose content. Some users find it to be slightly more watery or less creamy.
    • Complete Protein: Both WPC and WPI are considered complete proteins, meaning they contain all nine essential amino acids.
    • BCAAs: WPI is rich in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) which are crucial for muscle growth and recovery.
  • Green Tea Extract

Green tea extract is derived from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant and contains various bioactive compounds, most notably catechins, which support metabolism and weight loss. These catechins boost thermogenesis, the body's process of producing heat and expending energy, resulting in an increase in the number of calories burned, even at rest. Higher thermogenesis can lead to greater calorie expenditure, contributing to weight loss over time. Green tea has been consumed for its health benefits in Asian cultures for thousands of years.

  • Choline

Choline is an essential nutrient that plays a role in various bodily functions, including metabolism, lipid transport, and liver health. Choline is involved in the transport and metabolism of fats in the liver and the emulsification of fats, making them more accessible for breakdown and energy utilization. This supports the body's ability to use stored fat as an energy source, contributing to weight loss, especially when combined with a calorie-controlled diet and exercise. Eggs and meats, foods consumed since ancient times, are rich in choline.

  • Caffeine

Caffeine is an alkaloid compound which is found especially in tea and coffee plants and is a stimulant of the central nervous system, and is used to reduce the feeling of tiredness and fatigue. Caffeine has been shown to enhance endurance performance by increasing the availability of free fatty acids for energy utilization, sparing muscle glycogen. This can be particularly advantageous during longer-duration aerobic activities, such as distance running or cycling. Found especially in tea, coffee, and cacao plants, caffeine has been consumed for its stimulating effects since ancient times. Historical records indicate that coffee was consumed in Arabian Peninsula regions as early as the 15th century.

  • Carnitine

Carnitine is a compound that plays a crucial role in energy metabolism, particularly in the transportation of fatty acids into the mitochondria (the energy-producing centers of cells) where they can be oxidized and used for energy. By increasing fatty acid oxidation, the body can rely more on stored fat for energy, leading to a decrease in body fat and reduced muscle damage. Found in red meats, dairy, and fish, carnitine has been an integral part of human diets throughout history.
